Welcome to Night City, 2045.
This is a text game. You read what's around you and type what you want to do.
Nothing happens until you type something, and nothing you type can break the
game, so experiment.
Your first five minutes
- You start in the Threshold, a white room outside the city. A guide
called Crane waits there. Ask him anything: just type your question.
- Read the role files: help solo and help medtech. Your role is
your trade, and you only get to pick it once.
- When you're sure, type choose <role>.
- Your role's starter kit goes straight into your inventory. Type
look me to see your description and what you're wearing.
- Type enter Night City to step through into The Glen, at the heart
of the city.
- Walk with directions (north or n, south, east, west, up,
down, in, out). Type look to see where you are, and
look <thing> to study something named in the description.
- Type help any time for the full list of help files.
What works today
The pilot is being built a piece at a time. Right now you can explore The Glen
and the edge of the Old Combat Zone, talk, and read every rule. Files marked
as still being wired in describe systems (combat, shops, raising skills) whose
commands arrive in later updates.
